Hello Bear Blog (or: How I Tricked Myself Into Writing)
Hello dear Bear Blog,
I really love writing. But turning it into a regular habit is really really hard. I mean, I have been trying to come up with solutions for years now. I tried everything, setting a fixed hour every day to write, aiming for a certain word count each week (yes, I stole this one from Stephen King), writing about how good writing makes me feel just so I can look at it when I don't want to write... But it was pointless, no matter what I do, I couldn't write regularly.
Then one day, while reading blogs I follow, I realized that the answer was in front of me all this time. Yes, the answer was blogging! If I set myself a weekly writing goal and actually post it somewhere, I'll feel obligated to follow through. Plus, since my posts will be public, I'll have to pay attention to basic things, like actually having a topic, grammar, spelling... It was so simple, yet so brilliant that I may or may not have teared up a little.
Of course, the reason I don't write regularly might have nothing to do with the feeling of pointlessness that comes from producing page after page of work, destined to live and die unseen, unappreciated, unloved... The reason may simply be that I am too lazy to write regularly. But... I have decided not to think too hard about that for now.
So what's the plan? At least one post per week. Ideally, each post will be built around a question, a topic or a theme. But some weeks, I might just write whatever comes to my mind. Not because I think randomness makes me look edgy or cool. No, no, it would be too perfect. It’s just that some weeks I’ll be too tired (or lazy) to chase after a “real” topic, and the only way to keep the streak alive will be to ramble about whatever comes to my mind.
Anyway, here I am. I hope I can stick to my goal and I hope you, dear reader, enjoy what you read here. That's all from me for now, take care of yourself.
Oh, by the way, if you ever want to get in touch, you can find my email on the “about” page and you can drop me a mail anytime.
See you around,
